TRANSCRIPT

[Scene: We open the scene up inside the Albatross. Unlike the scene in the first episode, the bar is in full swing tonight. The Gunrunners are sitting at a table. Music is thumping.]

EDDY

“I’m telling you, Tucker. I know what I saw. There was a fifth crate that we missed… and that merc you hired got to it. You made that deal too quick.”

TUCKER

“What the fuck do you know anyway, Eddy? What do you know about sealing deals? Making things happen? We’ve got our hands on all four cases. Who cares about a couple pistols? Look, guys… It’ll be enough. It’s a haul.”

JOE

“Not enough for our client, maybe.”

TUCKER

“It’s a haul. For five chips it’s the best one we’ve brought home this month…”

EDDY

“You let her push you, Tucker. Should have secured the pistols in the deal.”

JOE

“He’s right. If they were in that other crate… We should’ve had a better look at the footage before meeting your merc. Not a good look.”

TUCKER

[A bit of a laugh, amusement covering up indignity. Tucker feels he’s better then these guys but somehow he knows they’re right. He’s backed up into a corner, nervously defensive.]

“Would you listen to this? What a couple of Judas’s. Lighten up. We can make this work still.”

EDDY

“I’m just sayin’ that if it wasn’t for our client looking for those pistols, we wouldn’t have even known to try and piggyback this little heist. He wanted the score, sure… but he led you sideways! It’s always in the eyes, Tucker! That look said he wanted the pistols as much as he wanted the haul.”

TUCKER

[Thinks for a moment before reluctantly agreeing.]

“Fuck. You’re… you’re right. He said they were collectors pieces, didn’t he?”

JOE

“Yeah, he did.”

EDDY

[Leading Tucker on, trying to bring him to a conclusion.]

“Why would he have even mentioned ‘em if they weren’t a big deal? If he’d wanted to get his hands on some Caprican gear he’d of just went and bought from the cops, right? Rich old blood like him? He could buy from anyone. He was dealing us as hard as we were dealin’ him.”

TUCKER

[Anger setting in.]

“I get it, Eddy. Are you talking to me right now like I can’t read the writing on the goddamned wall? He was trying to get us to throw them in like they were extra but they were the old man’s target from the start. Clever. Real clever. We can still make something happen from this, though.”

JOE

“Yeah? How’s that going to play out?”

TUCKER

“You just sit back and watch, alright? Actually, no. I want you two the fuck out of here. Just get out. I don’t have patience left in my entire body to deal with that stupid look on your face anymore, Joe.”

EDDY

“Hey, he didn’t mean anything by it.”

TUCKER

“I’ll make a new deal. Alright? She’s just a merc. I’ll get the guns. Then we’ve got the haul and the show pieces. Now, Both of you get gone. You’re useless to me. Can’t even pass as muscle so you might as well not be here.”

EDDY

“You honestly think you don’t need our help?”

TUCKER

“Think? I know it. If you two were any good you’d of closed a deal with the Troka… given them some shiney rocks or something. Now I’ve got to cash five chips out to a merc. Maybe more.”

EDDY

“Yeah, I guess you do. Come on, Joe. You heard the man. He’s got this. You have a good night, Tucker. Have a drink on me.”
